Peter Pilotto Spring 2013

There seems to be a competition among the designers of print in London and the design duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos certainly met up with a challenge with a collection with 3-D embroideries, beading and cutouts to their digitally generated patterns.

The shapes were interesting with undulating peplums, tiered ruffles and jutting panierlike extensions on sleeves and skirts. It kept ones attention yet seemed to be a tad bit of balance. The collection was quite inventive and well executed. even though it was a bit heavy handed and busy. The simplest short dresses were great with short kimono like sleeves and graphic necklines that exalted the prints, rather than overwhelming them.

Pilotto and Vos definitely know how to cut a feminine clothes that are flattering and striking. In previous collections one can see that this is so. This time around they did the same but they only needed to find a balance. They can do this and I am sure they will. I always love seeing their collections because they are, in my eyes, stunning and I love the way they put prints together and make them work in all kinds of silhouettes. Peter Pilotto is worth viewing any season of the year. I recommend you view their collections as well, when you can. It is worth it.

Peter Pilotto is Well Crafted Fall/Winter 2012-2013.

The great wonder of this Peter Pilotto collection is the amazing assembling and craftsmanship of these clothes! This fall the looks are done in high necked, scuba-inspired silhouettes that the designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos explored last season. These all had yellow florals and abstract prints added to an underwater palette of blue, green and gray. Luxury was heightened with velvet details, as well as intricate beading and sequins. Pilotto and De Vos carried on with the aesthetic they had for their spring collection and did an amazing job with creating a well crafted collection.

A Colorful Peter Pilotto Spring 2012 Collection.

Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos looked at Indonesia's landscape for inspiration. Surfwear inspired silhouettes were clean and had wonderful inventive prints on them. The duo managed to design and deliver inventive and well crafted looks that were sporty and can also walk on the glamorous side with billowing cotton skirts, one which was printed with a crashing waves. There were optical patterns that were designed to evoke lush jungle scenes which came in green, sea blue, and yellow. I enjoyed the handcrafted textures in the form of pencil skirts embellished with shimmering crystals and PVC leaves. The designers did nothing but create clothes that are eye catching and once worn are perfect for the spring and summer season. Check out the Peter Pilotto collection!
