Number 7 Couture Collection by Bouchra Jarrar for Spring 2013

Bouchra Jarrar shows that she is a French designer that has a unique and incredible point of view. This collection had a real sense of practicality and modern elegance that was sleek, clean and lavishly simple with the Jarrar touch.

She offered coats with military buttons, lapels trimmed in beaver fur, rustic English felts and muted houndstooth were paired with sleek tuxedo pants in midnight blue.
There was an assymetric elements that had a side closure or a sloping collar or a quarter moon of fur flung from one lapel. A a short waisted shearling looked sexy and pretty chic and would make a perfect piece to have in any wardrobe.

Dresses were simple and clean and came in a creamy ivory color. A beautiful tank dress with a scooped back that was slightly off kilter had an impact in it's simplicity.
All in all these clothes have a futuristic allure to them. Jarrar knows herself so well as a designer and she consistently proves that she is someone in demand to make clothes that are parctical in a special modern haute couture kind of way. And there is a demand for that.

Bouchra Jarrar Haute Couture Fall 2012 is Thumbs Up!

The collection by Bouchra Jarrar shown on Monday July 3rd was based on one single piece. "I used all of the items of the day to day trench coat, always keeping the fitted waist," she said. She cropped the trench into a sleeveless top over a skirt.

A lot of A-line shapes had movement and were matched with V-neck shells and some wonderful tops were matched with elegantly tailored pants.

Details throughout the collection were trenchlike straps and buckles. Very tasteful eveningwear was also a strong factor in the collection. With the soft blues and purples Jarrar made use of some elements such as corsetry, leather and hardware to give alight "aggression" in the mix. Short evening looks were just as perfect for any of Jarrar's clients. All of the pieces in this collection can be combined with non-couture pieces.
Once these garments are worn, one can't help but feel like a million bucks. Jarrar is a valuable couturier to have around because she puts thought into what a woman's needs are and what is practical yet make her look super elegant and modern at the same time. Perfect.

Bouchra Jarrar Fall Couture 2011. Definitely Going Places!

There are Bouchra Jarrar fans out there and a lot of people do not know this. She certainly did not disappoint at all with this Fall Couture presentation! She produced beautiful, well made garments so exquisite that I suggest all of you to follow what she does, because she has a lot to offer to satisfy any woman who is looking for high quality clothes.

All bases were covered from day to evening. The craftsmanship and tailoring played a part to complete the looks that are modern, clean and bold as a result. The beautifully cut little black dress with a skewed slash on the neckline, and wonderful cut outs with her signature piping were present in her dresses and jackets.
Her love for bold graphics were expressed with magnificent stripes of gray and blue that sliced through a gray coat dress, a touch of perfection was on a black tweed dress, and they gave the knits she created a delightful accent.

The designer said that she was playing with the contrast of femininity and masculinity. The beautiful blue color is a memorable color that was truly noticeable. There is no question that her following is growing and that she is gradually becoming a couturier whose clothes will be in the pages of major fashion magazines and that her signature looks will be on the bodies of fashionable high profile women.
She is definitely going to places she never dreamed of!

Paris Hometown Girl, Bouchra Jarrar and her Haute Couture Spring 2011 Collection

I could not put my finger why Bouchra Jarrar reminded me of Chanel. Not that she looks like Chanel and nothing compares to Chanel, but Jarrar has got something to offer and it sure is not braids and tweeds like Chanel. I realized it is because Jarrar's collection was simple, elegant, beautiful, minimal and most importantly, wearable.

Bouchra Jarrar

After studying fashion in Paris, Bouchra Jarrar designed jewellery for Jean Paul Gaultier, followed by working at Balenciaga as the studio director and as the right hand man of Nicolas Ghesquiere for 10 years. Her marvelous voice of fashion is expressed through her designs. She has shown only three Couture collections and has created a buzz that is ongoing today in the fashion world.

Bouchra Jarrar's Spring Haute Couture 2011 collection was based on her love for asymmetry. The precision cut and tailoring produced high quality clothes that made a statement. The piping along the edges of some garments and around the slashes were absolutely sublime. The piping seems to be a signature of Jarrar's. Any piece in this collection is highly worth while to have in a wardrobe because of its haute minimalism and its timeless design and style.
Bouchra Jarrar strongly demonstrated that Haute Couture is not only about extravagant designing and fantasy, but that it is also about creating high quality wearable garments that are timeless and that emphasizes high fashion at its best. Not bad for a hometown girl from Paris.
